We Want To Partner With You

Moneta is a venture capital firm that invests in Data Science Technology startups and helps them become successful companies. We focus on the Data Science arena and specialize in Fintech, Insuretech, AI, and Financial-Cyber.
Moneta’s management team takes a hands-on approach and assists entrepreneurs in realizing their vision and building great companies. As high-tech investors for well over two decades, we have funded dozens of startups and have seen many of them becoming successful companies.

In 2015, we set up Moneta Seeds, the early stage arm of Moneta. Moneta Seeds has already led multiple investments and was named as one of the most active funds in Israel. Both funds are working in synergy to fulfil Our vision of supporting great ventures across all stages of their capital development – from Seed to Growth.

The Fintech revolution:The financial world is facing a paradigm shift with new breakthrough services revolutionizing 100-year-old concepts. During the next decade, banks and insurance companies will have to reinvent themselves in order to remain relevant. Back in 1993, Bill Gates, co-founder and CEO of Microsoft, coined the phrase: “Banking is necessary; banks are not”. With the unbundling of banks, his prescient words seem more relevant today than ever before.  Read More

Data is Eating the World:Data and analytic technologies are shaking up the world and the effects are poised to reshuffle the landscape in multiple industries. In a lecture at the Google user’s meeting in 2006, Steve Jobs, Founder and CEO of Apple, used this phrase to emphasize the tectonic change in consumer’s habits: “if your user is not the one paying, then he is not the customer but rather the product being sold”. These words reflecting on the huge value of data, seem more relevant now than ever before: users’ data is becoming the core value being sold. Read More

We are telling the entrepreneurs – We’re committed to bringing our experience to bear. Before we did what we’re doing now, we did what you’re doing. Strategic partners

We have established strategic partnership agreements with world leading banks and insurance firms. Our partners join most of our deals as co-investors and are the early adopters of the startups’ products.

Once we have met a startup that we think may satisfy our criteria, we always connect it with our Strategic partners and listen to what they have to say about it. If they are impressed, than it is likely that we become more interested. This model is unique: we don’t just consult with Strategic partners; we are also managing their investments in Fintech. Their vote of confidence is manifested in writing checks to our startups. We view this as a Win-Win model: Win for the startup (Funds and client), Win for the Partners (exposed to cutting edge startups), and a big Win also for us.

    Investment Method

We are an active lead-investor. We conduct deep DD and then syndicate the financing round, mostly alongside our strategic partners. After the investment, we sit on the board and help guide the strategy and the execution.

The thesis in all our investments requires a case study that validates the story, prior to investment. We are experienced enough to establish our decisions based on real feedback from clients who have experienced a POC or examined the new venture and were impressed. That’s why we have partnered with leading financial institutions – we want their full attention and interest when we need an opinion.

    What we are looking for:

In each of our investments, we are looking for these qualities and in this order:

    (1) An exceptionally talented founding team,

    (2) Market need that represents annual TAM of Billions,

    (3) Unique product/IP with descent entry barriers,

    (4) A clear Exit strategy within 5 years.

An exceptional team is comprised of complementary technology and Management skills. We want to see that the team understands its domain much better than we do (and we try to get it quick). The Market size is a key factor and without the conviction that the startup is up to something big on a worldwide scale, we shall pass. Then comes Technology: actually, service-innovation is also acceptable as long as the IP is deep and sets an entrance-barrier for enough time.
